The Covid-19 pandemic caused profound changes in higher education, particularly in in-person courses, which adopted emergency remote teaching as an alternative to ensure academic continuity. This study aimed to analyze remote assessment tools used during the pandemic and their contributions to the teaching-learning process. This is a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study based on a literature review and documentary analysis of scientific publications, educational legislation, and institutional guidelines. The results indicate that, despite the initial challenges faced by teachers and students, several digital tools enabled the continuity of assessment practices, promoting interaction, engagement, and academic performance monitoring. The use of videoconferencing platforms, virtual learning environments, interactive applications, and social media stood out as relevant resources in the assessment process. It is concluded that remote assessments, when coherently planned according to pedagogical objectives and supported by Information and Communication Technologies, can significantly contribute to educational quality, even in emergency contexts, highlighting the importance of continuous teacher training and equitable access to technology.
