Diretrizes para Autores
The International Journal of Health and Surgical Research (IJHSR) accepts submissions of original articles, reviews, case reports, narrative reviews, and brief communications in the fields of health, medicine, and surgery.
Language Recommendation: IJHSR strongly encourages manuscripts to be submitted in English, aiming to increase the international visibility and reach of your research.
Before submitting, please ensure that your manuscript follows ALL the rules below:
1. Manuscript Format

File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing.

Page Numbers: All pages must be numbered.
-
Tables and Figures: Must be inserted in the body of the text with a title and legend.

Structure: Follow IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion or Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References).

Maximum number of authors: 12

Author Identification: Below the title, include: Full name + Academic background + Educational institution + City and State + ORCID (if available).

The authors must submit a manuscript without identification and also submit a manuscript with the authors’ identification (according to the template).
2. Manuscript Length
-
Original article: Up to 5,000 words.
-
Systematic review: Up to 7,000 words.
-
Narrative review: Up to 4,000 words.
-
Case report: Up to 2,500 words.
-
Brief communication: Up to 1,500 words.
3. References – Vancouver/ABNT Format
-
Must follow Vancouver or ABNT style. Use only indexable sources (PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, etc.). Include DOI whenever available.

4. Title and Abstract

Clear and objective title.
-
Structured abstract (Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion).
-
Include 4 to 6 keywords (DeCS/MeSH) that are not present in the title.
5. Ethics and Consent
-
Research involving humans must report approval by the CEP/IRB (Ethics Committee).

Case reports must include signed consent or state patient confidentiality (blurred photos, fictitious names, etc.).
6. Plagiarism and Originality Policy
-
The submission must be original and not under evaluation by another journal.

All articles undergo anti-plagiarism verification. Texts with more than 20% similarity will be rejected immediately.
7. Publication Fee (APC)
-
Brazilian Authors: R$ 100.00
-
International Authors: US$ 50.00
-
The fee is only charged after the article is accepted for publication.
8. Conflict of Interest
-
Authors must declare any financial, institutional, or personal ties that could influence the study.
9. Copyright

By submitting, authors agree to grant the journal the right of publication and distribution under a CC BY 4.0 license.
