The International Journal of Health and Surgical Research (IJHSR) accepts submissions of original articles, reviews, case reports, narrative reviews, and brief communications in the fields of health, medicine, and surgery.

Language Recommendation: IJHSR strongly encourages manuscripts to be submitted in English, aiming to increase the international visibility and reach of your research.

Before submitting, please ensure that your manuscript follows ALL the rules below:

1. Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing.

  • Page Numbers: All pages must be numbered.

  • Tables and Figures: Must be inserted in the body of the text with a title and legend.

  • Structure: Follow IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion or Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References).

  • Authors:

     Maximum number of authors: 12

  • Author Identification: Below the title, include: Full name + Academic background + Educational institution + City and State + ORCID (if available).

  • Los autores deberán enviar un manuscrito sin identificación y también un manuscrito con la identificación de los autores (de acuerdo con el formato/plantilla).

2. Manuscript Length

  • Original article: Up to 5,000 words.

  • Systematic review: Up to 7,000 words.

  • Narrative review: Up to 4,000 words.

  • Case report: Up to 2,500 words.

  • Brief communication: Up to 1,500 words.

3. References – Vancouver/ABNT Format

  • Must follow Vancouver or ABNT style. Use only indexable sources (PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, etc.). Include DOI whenever available.

  • Vancouver Example: Silva JF, Andrade T. Acute appendicitis in children. J Pediatr Surg. 2022;57(4):650-7. doi:10.1016/j.jpedsurg.2021.09.010.

4. Title and Abstract

  • Clear and objective title.

  • Structured abstract (Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

  • Include 4 to 6 keywords (DeCS/MeSH) that are not present in the title.

5. Ethics and Consent

  • Research involving humans must report approval by the CEP/IRB (Ethics Committee).

  • Case reports must include signed consent or state patient confidentiality (blurred photos, fictitious names, etc.).

6. Plagiarism and Originality Policy

  • The submission must be original and not under evaluation by another journal.

  • All articles undergo anti-plagiarism verification. Texts with more than 20% similarity will be rejected immediately.

7. Publication Fee (APC)

  • Brazilian Authors: R$ 100.00

  • International Authors: US$ 50.00

  • The fee is only charged after the article is accepted for publication.

8. Conflict of Interest

  • Authors must declare any financial, institutional, or personal ties that could influence the study.

9. Copyright

  • By submitting, authors agree to grant the journal the right of publication and distribution under a CC BY 4.0 license.

La International Journal of Health and Surgical Research (IJHSR) acepta envíos de artículos originales, revisiones, reportes de caso, revisiones narrativas y comunicaciones breves en las áreas de salud, medicina y cirugía.

Recomendación de Idioma: La IJHSR recomienda encarecidamente que los documentos sean enviados en Lengua Inglesa, con el fin de aumentar la visibilidad y el alcance internacional de su investigación.

Antes de realizar el envío, asegúrese de que su manuscrito siga TODAS las reglas a continuación:

1. Formato del Manuscrito

2. Extensión de los Manuscritos

3. Referencias – Formato Vancouver/ABNT

  • Deben seguir el estilo Vancouver o ABNT. Utilizar solo fuentes indexables (PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, etc.). Incluir DOI siempre que esté disponible.

4. Título y Resumen

  • Título claro y objetivo.

  • Resumen estructurado (Objetivo, Métodos, Resultados, Conclusión).

  • Incluir de 4 a 6 palabras clave (DeCS/MeSH) que no deben figurar en el título.

5. Ética y Consentimiento

  • Investigaciones con humanos deben informar la aprobación por el CEP/IRB (Comité de Ética).

  • Reportes de caso deben incluir consentimiento firmado o informar confidencialidad del paciente (fotos con bandas de censura, nombres ficticios, etc.).

6. Política de Plagio y Originalidad

  • El envío debe ser original y no estar bajo evaluación en otra revista.

  • Todos los artículos pasan por verificación antiplagio. Textos con más del 20% de similitud serán rechazados inmediatamente.

7. Tasa de Publicación (APC)

  • Autores brasileños: R$ 100,00

  • Autores extranjeros: US$ 50,00
